September Events Get You Back in Practice

Guest Teacher Victor Varana Workshops

Victor Varana is an E-RYT500 certified yoga, meditation instructor, martial artist and energy worker with over 10 years of full yoga & mediation teaching experience and thousands of multilevel teaching hours. For the last 6 years he has being teaching in Tulum, México, one of the yoga retreat capitols of the world, were he leads retreats and teaches all kinds of people with a diversity of ages, practice levels and physical conditions which has gave him a wide amount of knowledge and experience. Among his students in this time, there has been movie and tv celebrities, top models, sports champions, olympic medalists and celebrity yoga & meditation teachers that highly recommend him.

He has strong roots on Kundalini, Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga and has immersed into a variety of traditional and contemporary yoga schools including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Yantra, JivaMukti, Power, ViniYoga and Tai Yoga massage. He also has studied and practices diverse Martial Arts since childhood and he brings all that into his formula "Alquimia Yoga".

Victor's ultimate alchemy of yoga is a sequence called "Kalam-Balam, the way of the serpent and the jaguar". The practices includes pranayama kriya and meditation, a unique asana flowing style combining martial arts techniques, sound therapy savasana with live percussions, throat singing and mantra.

  • September 9th 8-10 PM: Alquimia Strong Core Vinyasa Workshop with Victor Varana: A vinyasa and kriya yoga flow with strong emphasis on core strength, balanced movements and inversions. The practice will begin with Pranayama Meditation and will end with a therapeutic soothing Savasana guided by Victor's live healing sounds, throat singing and mantra. 
  • September 13th 3-5 PM: Kalam-Balam, Jungle Vinyasa + Martial Arts Workshop with Victor Varana A - yoga + martial arts - designed vinyasa sequence, performed with a very unique and dynamic yoga asana flowing style that combines diverse martial arts techniques and moves. Challenging and fun!. The practice will begin with Pranayama Meditation and will end with a therapeutic soothing Savasana guided by Victor's live healing sounds, throat singing and mantra.
  • September 13th: 6:30-8:30 PM: Alquimia Self Therapy Flow Workshop with Victor Varana A gentle floor practice flow that opens every joint and stretches every muscle. This class is introduced by Kriya and Pranayama meditation & finished with live healing sounds, mantra and throat singing, a therapeutic sounds Savasana.

MYBO Stand Up Paddleboard Retreat 

September 11-13th Arrive anytime after 4pm Friday and depart Sunday afternoon: SUP Retreat with Alicia Kuhnke and Amanda Shipe Some escape for a weekend full of fitness, relaxation and fun on the water! Deep Creek Lake is the largest inland body of water in Maryland covering approximately 3,900 acres with 69 miles of shoreline. Come spend the weekend relaxing in a cabin steps away from Deep Creek Lake State park. This retreat will include stand up paddleboard lessons, stand up paddleboard yoga classes, yoga and meditation.

  • September 19th 2:30-3:30 PM: Free Information Session on Spring Teacher Training with Soozie Kinstler Have you closed your eyes and wished that yoga could be more of a lifestyle? That you had more time to do more of it? Maybe you have imagined how cool it would be to be a teacher? Even if teaching is not in your vision taking 200 hours for your own personal, emotional and spiritual development will be a life changing experience. It does take a huge commitment. It takes time, money and energy but what in life doesn't? Often we don't feel the need to give ourselves this sort of gift. It will be challenging, yet fulfilling at the same time. You will not be the same person as when you entered. This will be an information session for those of you who have the calling and yearning inside but are filled with doubt and fear. Let's talk it out and see if now is the time. Make your choice from inspiration and hope rather than fear. Let your intuition guide you. 
  • September 26th-November 1st: Immersion: Taking the seat of the Yogi This is for students who want to take their practice to the next level. This immersion will be for the practitioner who is interested in breaking down some of the common yoga practices and principles in a simplistic way to incorporate immediate transformation in the application of the deeper practices of yoga. This will affect the way you approach your asana practice as well as all the other practices you have in life, like interactions, relationships, diet and more. Expect to commit to asana, meditation and diet and watch the transformation unfold.
